114 Days to go!

Welcome to my...I mean "our" blog! I love keeping people updated on what's going on in my life (an now Jason's). If you know me, Lindsey, then you know I'm an open book...maybe a little to much sometimes. Anyway I wanted to join in with everyone else on this blogging trend so if you care to know what's going on in our lives (if I haven't already told you) then you'll know where to go! Currently I am on my Summer break from teaching and Jason is sadly away in Brownsville for the hurricane Dolly storm. He got called out 3 days before my birthday and just a couple weeks before his. This will be his 2nd birthday in a row away from friends and family. Last year he was living in San Antonio and couldn't make it home...sad I know. It broke my heart last year and it will break again on Wednesday morning. Thankfully we were able to spend a good week with his whole family (Aunts, Uncles, cousins and all!) in Destin, FL. We extended our vacation (no surprise if you know us) on to New Orleans with his brother Jeremy and sister-in-law Carmen. It's always fun to be able to spend a little extra quality time with them. We don't get to see them near enough.

Two days after we returned he got called to Brownsville, so we were definitely thankful for our time together before so much time apart. We love spending so much time together that these long period of times apart can be difficult. The 1st week is usually the hardest...then the time flies, up until the last 3 days. For those of you who might be wondering what I'm talking about, Jason is a catastrophe homeowners insurance adjuster for Travelers Insurance. So basically any time there is a catastrophe he has to go. I have learned the the most common catastrophes are storms with high winds. So if you hear of hurricanes or high wind storms...more than likely Jason will be there. Although it is a great job and he is so good at it, we're both not sure if it is the ideal job for when little ones start coming around. He has a hard enough time being away from his dogs...can you imagine a month away from his child! So who knows what the Lord has in store for us down the road...EXCITING!

Anyway, about the wedding! Planning has been quite the experience. I have learned how much etiquette there is and how silly some of it can be...but oh well. (Oh, and HOW MUCH MONEY! WOW...insane!) We are just so excited to be getting married and spending time with all of our family and friends. We both love spending time with family, so having them all together is just going to be such a joyous occasion for us, we really can't wait. I've tried really hard to not get to overwhelmed in the planning process and let things just fall into place the way God wants it to. I spend more time reflecting on our marriage and what God has planned for us and already done, that is what excites us!
