I felt like the worlds luckiest girl this weekend. It was full of wedding to-dos and festivities. My Aunt Jeanne came in from Corpus to celebrate my bridal shower on Saturday with other family and friends! I was so excited she got to come, but after picking her up from the airport I had to break the news to her that we were headed to my other aunt's house (her sister) to punch holes and tie bows on my invitations. She was a trooper, so we met up with both my mom and Aunt Shona and got to work on a task I would NOT been able to do with out them. Of course I "tried" but after my bows were corrected after each completion, I handed over the reigns to my favorite mother. I finished addressing rehearsal dinner invitations. We put on some fun music (Aunt Shona's I-pod...you can only imagine!) and I got to listen to stories about the 3 of them growing up. I loved every minute of it, well besides my lack of bow tying skills.
Anyway on to the invitations...I L-O-V-E them! I can't WAIT for them to be sent out. They are exactly what I wanted and I am glad we went with them. Like my mom says, they're off the beaten path but so is a lot of other things with my, oops I mean OUR wedding.
Saturday I had my "pretty" bridal shower and boy oh boy was it PRETTY! Our friend Shonna Ammann opened her gorgeous home out in Fairview to all my family and friends.
The cake was gorgeous as well. I was overwhelmed by the amount of people who came to show their love and support and oh my goodness the gifts!!! (by the way, I got THE mixer!)

Sunday was typical nursery duty and Sunday school and then off to P.F. Changs for mama's birthday! YUUUUMMMMY! Jason and I left from there to go make a final decision on a wedding band for both of us. We also got to meet with our minister Mark and Starrla Penick. We feel SO blessed that we will have someone marrying us who knows us and has watched our relationship grow since the beginning pretty much!
After it was all said and done, I reflected on all of it (imagine that!). In all of this hoopla, I have realized some very important things. One emotion I have felt a lot of is guilt. I feel like so many people are doing so many things in preparation for our wedding. You quickly realize who is there for you and how important family and true friends are!!! Jason and I would talk about how in debt we feel to these people and how do we ever repay them. What could we ever give in return to show our appreciations? As we discussed this, I immediately started thinking about Jesus and how in debt we are to him! To think that someone actually gave up their life for us??? It put so much into perspective for me and more than ever before. I am just so thankful God put Jason into my life and has shown me just how much He is leading the way.
"When you plan, God laughs"--NO KIDDING!
