Happy Birthday Fiance!

Today is Jason's 29th birthday! It is a very bitter sweet day since he is once again away from his me and his family. He is still in Brownsville for work and won't be back in Dallas until the 20th. Last year he was living in San Antonio and couldn't be here for his birthday as well. I know this will just make those birthdays we do get to celebrate together that much more special while he has this job. Unfortunately hurricane season falls during both of our birthdays, so some years we know will be like this. As easy as it is to complain about, I am grateful for his job and proud of how well he is doing at it. I'm also thankful for him and knowing that God had a plan for both of us 29 years ago is simply amazing. Together or not, I know we will have many more birthdays together.

Now I tried to be sneaky again this year and do something from a distance so I tried to send him a birthday cake to his hotel, but every bakery I called only spoke spanish and/or didn't deliver, so I will have to wait to see him in Corpus this weekend and sing him happy birthday. Until then I took this picture to help bring a smile to his face.
(yes we are those weird people that think we are parents already...we know we know but we love it!)

The kids!

Let me introduce you to the two most adorable and hilarious people..oh I mean dogs in our life. When we started dating I heard about the "pups" but it wasn't until about 6 months in to our relationship did Jason finally think it was time for me to meet them. Ok, he's not that weird, but when Jason moved to Dallas he left his pups with his mom and dad back in Greenville, Mississippi, so I wasn't introduced until we went together back to Jackson for his best friends wedding. This was going to be the first time meeting his dogs and his parents! DOUBLE WHAMMY! So it was a bit awkward for me being the new girlfriend and all. I had to make sure the parents liked me, no sweat, but then the DOGS???? Anyway it's been a year and half since then and I have custody of the pups since Jason is gone most the time. I really can't imagine my life without them now. They are totally like children to me and they are so darn funny!
Here is Chester. He will be 6 in September.
This is "girlfriend", he loooves her and takes reeeeal good care of her!
This is Boomer aka "baby boomer", "boom boom", "lil bit". He will be 4 in September too.
Yes, he is a precious and sweet as he looks (most the time). That puppy face is so real!
